A sold-out Travis Scott concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, ended with a bang, but not in a good way.
The peppers balls were used to disperse the crowd once a group of people started banging on the glass doors of the Bank of Oklahoma Center, breaking one of the doors. Officers added that no one was hurt.
USA TODAY reached out to the Tulsa Police Department for comment.
The arena, which is commonly referred to as BOK Center, announced on Twitter Monday that the show was pushed back to March 26 over “technical production issues.” The announcement came less than an hour before doors were scheduled to open, angering fans who had already been standing in line for hours.
Scott followed up with the same message, adding “I can’t give y’all an incomplete show.”
Social media videos show crowds of people booing outside the arena that was transformed into the carnival-themed “Astroworld” for Scott’s concert. Additional footage shows officers using what appears to be pepper spray after the unruly crowd tried to enter the arena.
The cancellation comes a day after Scott and Kylie Jenner attended the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The “Sicko Mode” rapper was nominated for three Grammys – best rap performance, rap song and rap album. The Houston native walked away empty-handed but brought the house down with a performance of “No Bystanders.”
Fans couldn’t help but speculate that Scott’s long night at the Grammys led to the abrupt cancellation. “Someone partied too hard at the Grammys,” Emily Roberts tweeted.
User @AllyRBurns accused the musician of being “hungover.” She tweeted: “I mean.. could’ve told ya he was gonna cancel.. BUT why did y’all have to wait 30 mins before the show. You know he woke up this morning and canceled it while hungover.”
Morgan Nabors suggested that Scott was feeling blue from his loss: “‘Technical production issues’ mans didn’t get his Grammy last night and got in his (feelings).”
